Burgundy - Seguin Manuel

Seguin-Manuel is one of the older names in Burgundy, dating back to 1824 in its former home of Savigny-lès-Beaune. The domaine was taken over by Thibaut Marion in 2004 and moved to its present seat in Beaune. Thibaut himself comes steeped in 10 generations of wine-making from his family estate, Chanson Père & Fils. With only 100,000 bottles produced each year from 8.5 hectares of his own vines and bought grapes, Thibaut produces a stunning 56 different cuvées.

"...Thibaut's wines improve incrementally year by year. His portfolio also seems to expand with some 30 cuvées to taste in 2014, a small number from his own holdings, but mostly through fermage agreements and contracted fruit. Check out his Meursault les Clous, an indication of what can be done with a modest village cru in the right hands, or his Savigny-lès-Beaune Goudelettes or Pommard Les Petits Noizons. These are well crafted wines..., yet full of purity and class." - Neal Martin - Wine Advocate January 2016
