Seguin Manuel Gevry-Chambertin "Vieilles Vignes" 2018

100% Pinot Noir

Old vines grown on clay and limestone soils in the northern part of Gevery-Chambertin -- a single plot of land named "Les Journeax" near to the 1er Cru vineyards. 

Hand-harvested grapes are vatted (juice fermented in contact with the skins and seeds) for 16 days, and then matured in oak casks for 15 months. 

Burgundy Report: 

"A deep, possibly reductive width, tighter in the higher notes. Supple, a more overt concentration with a little depth to this texture. More finishing bitters but also much, much complexity too – that’s potentially a great finish for a villages. Excellent wine!"
