Evocative of Southern Rhône earthiness, garrigue (woodsy herbs) and Mediterranean flair, Gigondas is an appellation with might and solidity, and a touch of the wild. Dating back to ancient times, it was the Romans who developed the hillsides of Gigondas into some of the oldest vineyards around. Drink a piece of history.

Tasting notes: Powerful yet charming, with ripe red fruit aromas, cranberries, raspberries, red plums, hint of black pepper. Juicy on the palate, rounding off with some chewy tannins. 

Drink with: Great with roasted or stewed meat, the protein in meats soak up the tannins and transform them into velvety smoothness. Or Mediterranean flavours - olives, rosemary and thyme, oregano, tomatoes. Serve at 18C. Consider decanting before service. Drink now, can hold till 2028-2033.

Winemaking notes: Vines grown on steep slopes, with stony soils, red clay, and alluvial soils.
